For The First Time in The Championship’s History UoB Graduates Participate in Refereeing Bahrain’s International Badminton Championship

Three female graduates from the Department of Physical Education at the College of Health and Sports Sciences (CHSS) at the University of Bahrain (UoB) participated in refereeing the games of Bahrain’s International Paralympic Badminton Championship, which was held recently in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was the first participation of female students in the history of the championship.
In the same context, 11 referees of students and graduates of the Physical Education Department succeeded in a refereeing training course organized by the Bahrain Paralympic Committee and the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation, and which was supervised by the Asian Badminton Federation. As more than 35 athletes participated in the course, which was held via the Zoom program on the margins of the first Bahrain International Paralympic Badminton Championship.
The President of the Arab and Bahraini Badminton Federation, and a member of the International Federation and Vice-President of the Asian Federation, Dr. Sawsan Taqwi, expressed her great pride in the Bahraini referees participating in the course, and especially the students of the Physical Education Department at UoB, for their active participation. Also, Dr. Taqwi honored all participants in the course and handed them certificates of appreciation.
It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the International Paralympic Badminton Championship for the first time, during the period from the 16th to the 21st of May 2022.
