The President of the University of Bahrain Discusses Joint Cooperation with Secretary-General of the Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science and Culture

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen AlMudhahki, discussed with the Secretary-General of the Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, the Vice-President of Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Dr. Lubna Selaibeekh, joint cooperation between UoB and ALECSO, for further educational, cultural and scientific development, and building bridges of cooperation between the university and other cultures in the world.

The President of the University of Bahrain made this statement on receiving the Secretary-General of the Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, on Sunday 20 March 2022 at the university premises in Sakhir. Dr. AlMudhaki confirmed that the University of Bahrain is open to cooperation with ALECSO in various scientific, educational, and cultural fields, given that UoB has high scientific expertise and competencies in its programs and disciplines.

For her part, Dr. Selaibeekh confirmed that ALECSO is ready for cooperation with UoB as well as participation in conferences and training workshops that would contribute to raising the level of human resources at the university, including students and academic and administrative staff and develop their skills and scientific and cultural knowledge and experiences.

Several issues of common interest and opportunities for scientific, cultural, and educational cooperation between UoB and ALECSO were discussed during the meeting.

ALECSO is one of the organizations of the Arab League. It is concerned with preservation and advancement of Arab culture in the fields of education, culture and science. It was established by virtue of Article 3 of the Arab Cultural Unity Charter and was officially announced in Cairo on July 25, 1970. It is based in Tunis. The Kingdom of Bahrain acceded to ALECSO in 1975. Since then, Bahrain has been promoting its relationship with ALECSO, being a house of expertise contributing to the development of education.
