Dr. Al-Mudhahka Receives His Eminence Al-Azhar Undersecretary Praising the Role of Al-Azhar in Spreading Moderate Islamic Thinking

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudahka, received the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Dhawini, who is visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue “East and West for Human Coexistence” in its first session, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka welcomed the honorable guest and Their Eminence the President of Al-Azhar University, Professor Salama Dawood, the Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy, Professor Dr. Nazeer Ayyad, and the former President of Al-Azhar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Mahrasawi.
As the UoB President praised Al-Azhar Al-Sharif’s efforts in spreading Islamic sciences over the past centuries, as well as moderation, centrism, conciliating hearts, and uniting Muslims, noting the important roles of Al-Azhar University graduates in reviving Islamic sciences, and clarifying the true religion’s parameters.
Moreover, Dr. Al-Mudhahka stated “The University of Bahrain has been honored to host numerous Al-Azhar graduates, who have contributed to the scientific and academic movement at the University, for more than three decades of its life,” noting the high academic levels of the graduates of this great edifice.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Dhawini, praised the UoB’s scientific and academic efforts , and its role in graduating intellectuals, researchers and thinkers, which contribute to consolidating awareness on the nation’s issues and advancing them in various cognitive, cultural, and intellectual dimensions.
In addition, His Eminence praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s embrace of dialogue between East and West, pointing out that it is one of the most important steps that pave the way for understanding between followers of different religions and reduces tension worldwide.
From UoB, the meeting was attended by the Vice President for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, Vice President for Academic Programs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Redha Qadir, Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Bulaila, and Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, Dr. Dhiya Abdullah Ka’abi.
