The African Research Confederation Commends the Term of Office of the Dean of the College of Business Administration at University of Bahrain

The African Federation of Operations Research Societies (AFROS) extended its thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain, Prof. Hatem bin Mahmoud Al-Masri, on the end of his term of office as the President of the Confederation 2019-2022.
The current President of the Confederation Dave Evans and members of the Confederation extended their thanks and appreciation to Prof. Al-Masri for his significant contributions. They stressed that Prof. Al-Masri’s passion for work, insight, professional skills, and hard work formed the basis of developing research in operations in Africa in general.
Prof. Al- Masri contributed, through his innovative leadership and distinguished performance during his term of office, to develop structures and foundations of operations in Africa, through the establishment of several branches of the Confederation in eight African countries. In addition, he formed seven research teams on topics related to development goals in Africa, including sustainable development, combating poverty, health care systems analysis, efficiency analysis, productivity increase, and food supply chain management.
The objectives of the African Federation of Operations Research Societies include promoting the use of research in operations and providing practical solutions to many issues in Africa in particular, and the whole world in general. The Confederation was established in 2016 by some research societies in African operations in Nigeria, South Africa, and Tunisia. The Confederation has branches in Algeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, and Zimbabwe.
