The University of Bahrain Discusses with the Canadian University of Ottawa Joint Academic and Research Collaboration

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, welcomed academic and research collaboration with the Canadian University of Ottawa, which is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Canada.
The University of Bahrain President made this statement on Sunday January 15, 2022, when she received the President of the University of Ottawa, Jacques Frémont, who is currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain. The two parties discussed areas of research collaboration and exchange of experiences, professors and students.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka stated, “We are keen to benefit from the University of Ottawa’s experience in various fields, as it is the largest bilingual university (teaching in English and French) in the world. She commended the rich academic expertise of the University of Ottawa, which has accumulated over more than 170 years since its establishment in 1848.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka pointed out that the University of Bahrain, which offers its courses in two languages; Arabic and English in its nine colleges, also pays attention to teaching other languages. It has several language centers, including the French Studies Center, the Confucius Center which teaches the Chinese language and culture, the King Sejong Institute which teaches the Korean language, and the Yunus Emre Institute which teaches the Turkish language.
For his part, the President of the University of Ottawa extended his thanks to the President of the University of Bahrain for the warm reception. He stressed his keenness to boost academic relations with the University of Bahrain. He noted that the two universities are characterized with student and culture diversity.
The presidents of the two universities discussed topics of common interest in the academic and research aspects, and new directions in global university work.
The meeting was attended by Salman Hassan Al-Jalahma, Americas Cultural Advisor, Dr. Mohammad Reda Qader, Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Amal Mohammad Al-Rayes, Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Systems, College of Information Technology.
