On the Sidelines of (KSAPT) International Conference in Saudi Arabia, Students of Pharmacy at the University of Bahrain Win 1st Place in the First Round of the Toxicology Competition

Students of the pharmacy program, College of Health and Sport Sciences, University of Bahrain won first place in the first round of the competition of “Cup of Arab Knights of Toxicology”, competing against six Arab universities. The competition was held on the sidelines of the Fourth “Knowledge, Skill & Ability in Pharmacy and Toxicology” International Conference, held on 6-8 December 2022), in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

University of Bahrain students ranked eighth among the eight best universities in the second round, and fifth among the eight best universities in the third round.

 

The conference highlighted the most important modern technologies in the field of pharmaceutical care, toxicological assessment, toxicology, and the uses of artificial intelligence in the field of drug toxicity and safety assessment.

 

The conference included several research competitions and pioneering experiments, most notably the competition of “Cup of Arab Knights of Toxicology”, in which 26 universities competed, including 13 universities from outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. In addition, the conference conducted four workshops that addressed topics in different fields.

 

The Dean of the College of Health and Sport Sciences, Dr. Lina Khonji, congratulated the students in the Allied Health Sciences Department on their participation in the conference and the accompanying events. She stressed that they could optimally represent the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing them continued success.

 

The University of Bahrain was represented by three students from the College of Health and Sport Sciences, namely Suhaib Aladdin and Fatima Saeed from the Pharmacy Program and Mohammed Yahya from the Medical Laboratory Sciences Program. The lecturer in the pharmacy program specialized in pharmacology and toxicology, Sherry Nasrallah, supervised the students in this competition.
