The University of Bahrain Holds Graduation Ceremony for Students of the College of Engineering

The University of Bahrain celebrated the graduation of 514 graduates from the College of Engineering in the majors of electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering, as part of the graduation ceremony for the 24th batch of university students, which is being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him, for (2017/2018 – 2021/2022) batches, on Monday January 23, 2023.
In a speech given by the Vice President for IT Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder on behalf of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Dr. Al-Jowder expressed the College of Engineering’s pride in graduating batches of engineers over a two-day program, with a total number of 2976 male and female graduates. The number of graduates in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering amounted to 360, while the number of graduates in the Department of Chemical Engineering amounted to 505.
Dr. Al-Jowder added, “We are all proud of graduating these batches that have studied in UoB which provided them with all possible sources of knowledge and practical capabilities, throughout their study at the college, to enable them to optimally serve their country. He stressed that the graduates shall effectively contribute to the development of their country in the various fields of engineering.
The graduates expressed their happiness in the graduation speech given by the graduate of the College of Engineering and recipient of Abdulrahman Al-Khazini Award, Mohammed Abdulredha Ahmed. Abdulredha said, “We, the graduates of the College, are proud of the University of Bahrain, a great scientific edifice that graduates generations of contributors to the development and renaissance of this great country, thanks to the great and continued efforts of the university, under the presidency of Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, to achieve the University objectives, for the service of the Kingdom of Bahrain. We have been supported by distinguished and qualified professors in all the administrative and academic fields, who spared no effort to carry out their noble mission honestly and efficiently.”
Abdulredha continued, “Our national university is still witnessing great developments in the academic programs, taking into account the labor market requirements and its need for highly qualified human resources. It has also strived to provide a modern scientific environment that serves students and contributes to increasing their academic achievement.”
The Vice President for IT Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, and the heads of the academic departments, honored 514 graduates from the majors of electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering, in the presence of graduates’ parents.
On Sunday, January 22, 2023, the University of Bahrain has held the graduation ceremony of College of Engineering students of the majors of architecture & interior design, environmental architecture, civil engineering, electronic engineering, and instrumentation and control engineering, who amounted to 1057 graduates.
It is worth mentioning that the history of the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain dates back to 1968, when the Gulf Technical College was established, which later turned into the Gulf College of Technology, and then into the College of Engineering after the establishment of the University of Bahrain in 1986.
The prestigious College offers 24 academic programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in its five departments, namely architecture & interior design, electrical and electronics engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, and mechanical engineering.
