Celebrating the Graduation Of “Tourism”, “Islamic Studies” And “English Language” Students UoB’s College of Arts Plans to Launch Global, Regional and Local Partnerships

The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Bulaila, confirmed that the College of Arts is in a continuous and constant effort to develop and update its undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs in line with the requirements of the changing labor market, and with the coming stage of global development in the humanities. He stressed that this can only be achieved through global, regional and local academic partnerships, and it is a goal that the College of Arts seeks to achieve in the near future.

This came in a speech delivered by the Dean of the College of Arts today, Thursday (26 January 2023) at UoB’s celebration of the graduation of the twenty-fourth batch – which is held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister- of its students who graduated from the academic year 2017/2018 to the academic year 2020/2021.

During the ceremony, the Dean stated, “We meet you here at the graduation ceremony of the twenty-fourth batch of students from the University of Bahrain, and I congratulate all of you for achieving this great scientific accomplishment, after years of your studies at your national university.” And he added, “After years of continuous endeavor, perseverance, and giving, your dream is fulfilled today by passing the first threshold of the study.”

It is worth noting that the National University is holding 20 graduation ceremonies for its students registered in the ceremonial program, from January 19, 2023, to January 29, 2023, with two ceremonies per day, one in the morning and the other in the evening.

During the morning ceremony, the graduates of the Bachelor of Islamic Studies and Bachelor of Tourism received their certificates from the Vice President for Community Service and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Ansari. While during the evening period, the Vice President for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, handed the graduates of the bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature their certificates.

The graduates expressed their happiness, gratitude and thanks to UoB, as Graduates Zainab Ali Mohammed and Laila Sadiq Al-Najjar expressed their pride in UoB in this regard, which is a great scientific edifice that raises generations to have a new field of participating into the renaissance of this benevolent country.

Mohammad, who gave the graduates’ speech in the morning period, stated: “In this joyous ceremony, we cannot fail to express our thanks to our dear parents- after Allah Almighty -, who from the first moment of our existence in this life sought to instill the values of our true Islamic religion and our Arab traditions in us and urged us to seek knowledge.”

While during the evening ceremony, student Laila Al-Najjar said in the graduates’ speech: “I am honored to congratulate you one by one on this honorable ceremony, and I give you my sincerest wishes to further excellence, success and advancement in your scientific and practical life,” expressing her confidence that “every one of you must be proud today to be a graduate of the distinguished University of Bahrain.”.

The graduation of the students of the College of Arts is scheduled to be completed by tomorrow, Friday, and next Saturday morning, where students from the Bachelor of History, Bachelor of Art and Design, Bachelor of Sociology, Bachelor of Media, and Bachelor of Arabic Language and Literature will be graduated.

The College of Arts is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the University, as its roots go back to the year 1978, when the University College of Science, Arts and Education was established, and within about 45 years, the College of Arts was able to make a number of developments on all its inputs, until it included more than 14 different programs at the bachelor’s, higher diploma and master’s levels today.
