Dr. Bulaila: We Strive to Achieve 21st Century Skills in All Programs UoB’s College of Arts Celebrates the Graduation of History, Arts and Sociology Students

The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Bulaila, confirmed that the College of Arts seeks to achieve twenty-first century skills in all its academic programs, pointing out that these skills begin with human beings, citizenship, problem-solving, language, literature, free-critical thinking, creativity, cooperation between scientists, information technology, and communication sciences, whether traditional or electronic.

The Dean of the College delivered a speechon Friday (27 January 2023) at the graduation ceremony of the twenty-fourth batch of UoB students – which is held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister- of its students who graduated from the academic year 2017/2018 to the academic year 2020/2021.

During the ceremony – which was attended by University officials – Dr. Bulaila stated : ” In the past year (2022), the College of Arts obtained an international accreditation certificate from the British Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC), therefore achieving the highest rating, which is the “Premier College,” adding that “this exceptional academic achievement in the history of the prestigious College of Arts at the University of Bahrain, would not have been possible without the exceptional support of the University Administration, and the concerted efforts of the academic and administrative bodies of the College of Arts.”.

Regarding the ceremony, the Dean congratulated the parents and graduates, saying: “We congratulate the parents on the graduation of their children, and we do not overlook the great efforts they made for the sake of their children with good patience.”

“My children of graduate students, this is your first threshold in the field of academic education, and I wish you all the success in your next thresholds at work, and in pursuing postgraduate studies, in order to achieve growth and advancement for our dear homeland, the Kingdom of Bahrain.” He added.

It is worth noting that the National University is holding 20 graduation ceremonies for its students registered in the ceremonial program, from January 19, 2023, to January 29, 2023.

During the ceremony that was held in the evening, the graduates of the Bachelor of History, Bachelor of Art and Design, and Bachelor of Sociology received graduation certificates from the Vice President for Academic Programs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qadir.

The graduates expressed their happiness, gratitude and thanks to UoB, as graduate Asma Khalid Abdullah said: ” I am honored to congratulate you one by one on this honorable ceremony, and I give you my sincerest wishes to further excellence, success and advancement in your scientific and practical life.”

Asma, who delivered the graduates’ speech, thanked the parents and faculty members for their efforts, encouragement, and support, which led to the reaping the fruits of these efforts.

The graduation of the students of the College of Arts is scheduled to be completed by tomorrow, Saturday, as the students of the Bachelor of Media, and Bachelor of Arabic Language and Literature will be graduated.

The College of Arts is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the University, as its roots go back to the year 1978, when the University College of Science, Arts and Education was established, and within about 45 years, the College of Arts was able to make a number of developments on all its inputs, until it included more than 14 different programs at the bachelor’s, higher diploma and master’s levels today.
