The University of Bahrain Holds Graduation Ceremony for the Students of the College of Science

The University of Bahrain has held the graduation ceremony of the 24th batch of the College of Science, University of Bahrain, which is being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, for (2017/2018 2020/2021) batches.
The Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Mohammed Mustafa El-Hilo, gave a speech on the occasion of the graduation ceremony. Prof. El-Hilo addressed the graduates, “Today you are fully prepared to start your working life and engage in the areas of practical life, to contribute to the process of development. You have been taught and trained by qualified professors who helped you acquire the various learning skills. Undoubtedly, you are our scientists in the future, and the role models of our national university, which has spared no effort to prepare you to confront the contemporary challenges, and to be competitive in the labor market.”
Prof. El-Hilo added, “This celebration of the graduation of a new cohort of students of the College of Science stresses the importance of basic sciences, which will remain the basis for finding solutions to difficult issues. These sciences have led to the development of technology we are using nowadays, which have changed the course of our daily lives.” He pointed out that the programs of the College of Science have been reviewed by international external committees, under the supervision of Bahrain Education and Training Quality Authority, and they obtained international accreditation. He added that the College of Science contributes effectively to publishing scientific research, which enhances the status of the University and the Kingdom of Bahrain worldwide.
The graduate, Ghadeer Ali Al-Oraibi gave the graduation speech, in which she expressed the graduates’ happiness. Al-Oraibi said, “Today we have finished a major stage in our life. We are now ready to start our working life seriously and diligently, for the service of our dear country. This is the time when we can prove that we live up to the responsibility.”
Al-Oraibi added “We take pride in our national university, which has spared no effort to graduate a generation capable of contributing to the development of the country and keeping pace with the qualitative shifts the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing, under the patronage of the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka. And with the tremendous efforts of the deans, heads of the departments, and all the academic and administrative staff.”
The graduates of the College of Science received their certificates from the Vice President for IT Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Science
The number of students enrolled in the College of Science in 2022/2023 amounts to 2,090, of whom 133 are postgraduate students. The college offers six undergraduate programs, namely biology, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, data sciences, actuarial sciences, and physics. The college’s programs have been fully accredited by the Bahrain Education and Training Quality Authority. The bachelor’s programs in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology sit on level 8 of the National Qualifications Framework. It should be noted that these programs have been internationally accredited by German and Canadian international accreditation bodies.
