Continuing Meetings with All Internal Entities President Of UoB: A Comprehensive Re-examination of The College of Applied Studies Is Being Conducted in Order to Meet the Requirements of Development

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, said that the University administration is continuously working to re-examine the conditions of all colleges, including the College of Applied Studies, for further development in the academic and administrative aspects, its continuous progress, and to meet the requirements of development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came during the open dialogue held by the President of the University – in the presence of the Vice-Presidents – with members of the academic and administrative bodies of the College of Applied Studies, on Sunday (February 26, 2023), at the E-Learning Center, as part of a series of meetings of the President of the University and senior management with UoB’s academic and administrative bodies.

The University President welcomed the academics and administrators, and praised the faculty members’ efforts to focus on the college programs’ outputs, and to adjust them according to the labor market needs and requirements and its future aspirations, in order to develop students’ skills, and to professionally qualify faculty members on how to enter specialized courses, to achieve the foundations of modern evaluation, and to ensure that the College’s graduates receive appropriate education and evaluation, which qualifies them for job opportunities that suit their specialties.

In addition to the University President, the questions of the audience were answered by the Vice President for Community Service and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Ansari, Vice President for Information Technology Services and Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, Vice President for Academic Programs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qadir, and the Dean of the College of Applied Education, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Baqer.

Dr. Al-Mudhaka referred to a number of proposals and questions that were raised at the academic and administrative levels, stating that all observations will be taken into account, and work will be done to find ways to implement those that are possible, noting that university work is of integrated efforts, and that these meetings are useful to open up many horizons with the colleges and administrative departments’ affiliates, in order to listen directly to their opinions and proposals.

This meeting is a continuation of a series of meetings conducted by the University President with colleges and administrative departments, in order to have direct communication , and to seek their views on improving and developing work at the National University.

It is worth noting that the College of Applied Studies was established in 2005 and is one of the University’s newest colleges. The College works to provide academic programs in higher applied studies that meet the current and future needs of the labor market, keep pace with technical and technical education, and provide the labor market with local technicians and professionals in various jobs, to contribute to the advancement of society and the local and regional economy.
