In Order to Develop Students’ Educational and Professional Career College of Business Administration at UoB Introduces Its Students to The Benefits of ACCA Certification

The Head of Accounting Department at the College of Business Administration at University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Abdullah Khalid Al-Jalahma, confirmed that to continuously develop students’ skills and potentials, and facilitate their entry into the local or global labor markets, the college is keen to provide a unique educational experience through the provision of advanced programs and courses.

This was during a lecture organized by the College of Business Administration in the hall of Al-Salam Learning Center on Tuesday (February 21, 2023), discussing “The Journey to Attaining the Association of Certified Public Accountants (ACCA) Certification”, which was attended by several of the college’s faculty members and students. This certificate is internationally recognized as by one of the most professional bodies in the field of accounting.

Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting, Dr. Gagan Kukreja, confirmed the college’s efforts to provide high-quality educational services, within UoB’s strategy to meet the needs of the financial sector, and to strengthen its partnership with ACCA, to facilitate obtaining the best professional certificates for the students at the College of Business Administration.

Moreover, he stressed the importance of the (ACCA) certificate for students, which can be completed within one year, as students of the Bachelor of Accounting program are required to complete 4 exams only, since students get an exemption from 9 exams.

For her part, the Payables and General Accounting at the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Zahra Sheikh Ali, referred to her experience in obtaining the certificate, its contribution to her career and professional advancement, and her acquisition of professional and vocational skills in various areas of work.

While the chartered accountant in Tamimi Markets, Wajeha Al-Asfoor, also called for the necessity of daily training and studying on accounting skills during the program, as the student gains practical experience in addition to theoretical study experience, stressing the importance of the skills, knowledge and experience that the certificate offers to those wishing to work in the profession of finance and accounting, or management in any business.
