Graduating the First Batch of the Certified Trainers of Pearson Publishing’s “Professional Trainer” Program

The first batch of the certified professional trainers graduated from the “Professional Trainer” program, organized by Pearson Publishing, as part of the memorandum of understanding between Pearson Publishing and the Department of English Language and Literature, College of Arts, University of Bahrain.

The program aims to prepare participants to support the professional development process and provide courses with effective interactive skills, in virtual and actual environments. The Academy is the first accredited institution in the world to provide tailored professional development courses in the fields of teaching and learning.

This graduation, which witnessed the participation of ten faculty members from the English Language and Literature Department, is one of the first steps towards establishing the “Pearson Teacher Education & Learning (PTEL) Academy” in the department, in the field of teaching, learning and professional development for English language teachers, and teaching methods based on the Global Scale of English (GSE).

After the successful completion of all stages of the program, the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Bahrain will be granted international accreditation from the Academy, which will conduct specialized courses to similar institutions around the world.

Dr. Ghada Ahmed Jassim, Dr. Mervat Issa Al-Buflasa, Dr. Madani Othman Ahmed, Dr. Jalal Mohammad Al-Dosari, Dr. Lama Khaled Al-Mahadin, Dr. Omar Noureddin Hassan, Prof. Sayed Sadiq Ahmed, Dr. Shadia Bint Adam Al Hashemi, Dr. Haifa Ahmed Al-Mukhreq, and Nadia Abu Al-Khair graduated from the program.
