A Furniture Company Expresses its Desire to Implement Designs for Students of the University of Bahrain

A company specialized in the furniture industry has expressed its desire to implement some furniture designs for the students of the University of Bahrain, so they can get to know the necessary changes in designs and understand the manufacturing methods.
This took place when a group of third-year students in the Environment Architecture Program at the Department of Architecture and Interior Design, College of Engineering visited the factory of the Closets Company, as part of the outdoor furniture design course.
The Environmental Architecture major focuses on planning and designing external spaces of all sizes and levels in cities and urban areas, preserving the environment and using its resources wisely to achieve the principles of sustainability and address problems resulting from misuse and various human practices.
Two faculty members at the Department of Architecture and Interior Design, Dr. Nour Al-Dawy and lecturer Zainab Al-Wadi, who teach the course of outdoor furniture design, participated in the visit.
The Closet Company also expressed its interest to allow students of the interior design program to visit its factory and train some students from the University of Bahrain. The Closets Company is one of the leading companies in the furniture industry, as it uses modern and advanced technologies that reduce human errors and saves time and effort.
The company manufactures all kinds of closets, kitchens, bedrooms, doors, furniture, and many other products that meet the Bahraini market’s needs. It also exports its products to some GCC countries.
During the visit, the students listened to an explanation of the method of manufacturing some pieces of furniture, starting with cutting wood, making joints for furniture pieces, assembling the piece of furniture, as well as finishing and wrapping the pieces for delivery.
The Company welcomed the students of the Department of Architecture and Interior Design, to visit its factory and engage in the Company’s training programs for university students.
Dr. Al-Dawy stressed the importance of such visits in linking theoretical studies with practice, to develop different pieces of furniture, through conversing with experts, examining the materials, and getting to know the method of manufacture.
