Within The Activities of the “Company” Program at “INJAZ Bahrain Youth” Festival Five Student Teams from UoB Qualified for The National Competition of the Company Program

Five student teams from the University of Bahrain (UoB) have qualified to participate in the “Company” competition at the national level, which is organized by INJAZ Bahrain.

Ten student teams from UoB recently participated in the second edition of INJAZ Bahrain Youth Festival, within the activities of the “Company” program, to promote their products and services and present them to the public.

Dr. Esraa Ahmed Wali, Head of the Coordination Committee for INJAZ Bahrain Programs at the University and Director of the Business Incubation Center, confirmed that UoB participated in 10 projects out of 60 projects submitted by 31 secondary schools and 9 local universities, as five teams qualified from UOB.

The teams from UoB that qualified for the “Company” competition at the national level are: The “Cartoon media art” team, which established a multimedia production company that provides several electronic entertainment platforms, using cartoon characters. The “Hush” team, which created a device to reduce harmful noise pollution, the “Sign Voice” team, which created an electronic platform to teach sign language, including lessons and an online store, the “Deeratna Deeratkom” team, with a card game consisting of 100 questions about the Arab Gulf countries, and the “Fuss” team, which manufactures luxury products and decorations from date pits.

Dr. Wali added that the activities of the Company program aim to empower Bahraini youth, and prepare empowered and innovative entrepreneurs, who are ready to enter the labor market. The program shall continue for a period of one year, as the program began last November and extends to June 2023, where the students, within their teams, form a company, members of the board of directors, and start creating a product for such company, which the team manufactures and markets.

The national competition is held at the end of the Company program, and it is a leading annual competition aimed at enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of Bahraini youth, and highlighting their development, growth and achievement throughout the year.
