Applications to be submitted on the Student Information Systemfrom 16-27 of April UoB Opens Application for The Associate Diploma Program In 7 Colleges

The University of Bahrain (UoB) opened the door to apply for the “associate diploma” program from 16-27 April 2023, for students who were dismissed and who permanently withdrawn from the University, “case study” holders, and regular students at the University who wish to transfer to the associate diploma programs, revealing the introduction of 15 associate diploma programs in seven colleges.
The Vice President for Academic Programs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qader, stated that students accepted into the associate diploma program will be given an opportunity to complete their graduation requirements in the associate diploma in a total period not exceeding eight semesters, as the bachelor’s program courses will be equalized with the diploma courses to calculate the remaining semesters for the student.
Moreover, he stated that some students wishing to obtain an associate diploma have already been transferred to the program, noting that the University is expanding its associate diploma programs by offering 15 new programs, aiming to enhance flexible learning paths, and improve students’ transition opportunities between learning paths and its various sectors, in accordance with recent trends in the field of education quality in higher education institutions.
Furthermore, Dr. Qader touched on those benefiting from the decision to expand the associate diploma programs, explaining that they are four categories: students who wish to transfer from a bachelor’s degree to an associate diploma, students applying for student case studies, students who got dismissed for not fulfilling study requirements, and students who have permanently withdrawn from the University. He alsoemphasized that graduates from the associate diploma program can continue their studies on the second (evening) period at the University, or look for a job, pointing out that the fees of students who were dismissed and who permanently withdrawn will be unsubsidized if they get admitted to return to study and fulfill the requirements of the associate diploma program.
The Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies explained that the associate diploma programs will be concerned with the applied aspects in all academic programs, so that the graduate will have practical skills, in addition to theoretical knowledge, indicating that the University has created a conducive environment to help students move forward and obtain the associate diploma, as well. Additionally, he pointed out that the study plans for the associate diploma programs have been approved, and those wishing to enroll in the associate diploma programs can refer to the University’s website or academic departments to view them.
Regarding the method of submission, he stated that all applications should be submitted through the student case study on the Student Information System (https://sis.uob.edu.bh/), calling on students who face any difficulties in entering the website to contact the Student Service Center on the number: (+973) 16633366.
It is worth mentioning that the new programs offered are: the Associate Diploma in Arts at the College of Arts, the Associate Diploma in Commerce at the College of Business Administration, and the Associate Diploma in Science at the College of Science. While the College of Engineering offers the Associate Science Diploma in Chemical Engineering, the Associate Science Diploma in Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering, the Associate Science Diploma in Civil Engineering, the Associate Science Diploma in Electrical Engineering, the Associate Science Diploma in Electronic Engineering, the Associate Science Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, the Associate Diploma in Architecture, the Associate Diploma in Interior Design, and the Associate Diploma in Environmental Architecture, in addition to the Associate Diploma in Information Technology at the College of Information Technology, the Associate Diploma in Law at the College of Law, and the Associate Diploma in Sports Sciences at the College of Health and Sports Sciences.
