UoB and KPMG Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Exchange Skills and Experiences

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, confirmed the University’s continuous endeavor to develop the level of students in higher education, through building partnerships with various institutions in the Kingdom, to provide programs and training opportunities for its students.

This came during the UoB and KPMG in Bahrain’s signing ceremony, on Tuesday (May 16, 2023), to coordinate cooperation between the two parties. The memorandum was signed by the University’s President, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, and Mr. Jamal Fakhro, the executive partner of KPMG in Bahrain.

Dr. Al-Mudhahka stated that this cooperation will contribute to developing the graduates’ skills, by achieving a set of development goals, by organizing training workshops for students and faculty members, and providing mutual training opportunities for professional development.

For his part, Fakhro added, “We are pleased to cooperate with the University of Bahrain to train graduates in line with the Hussain Qassim vocational training program launched by the company aiming to qualify young Bahraini cadres to enter the labor market and make a positive impact on the local community. The signing of the MOU is a pioneering step towards providing future generations of professionals with the skills and the experiences they need for a successful career, as well as giving them the opportunity to discover their passion in a supportive work environment.”.

The MOU represents the general framework defining the fields of cooperation between the University and the Company, whereby the two parties will exchange information and experiences, participate in the creation of relevant educational materials and resources, and conduct research and surveys.

From UoB, the meeting was attended by the Vice President for Information Technology Services and Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qader, Head of the Accounting Department at the College of Business Administration Dr. Abdullah Khaled Al-Jalahma, Assistant Professor at the College of Information Technology Dr. Amal Mohammed Al-Rayes. While from KPMG in Bahrain, the event was attended by Mr. Saeed Radhi, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Department, and Ms. Afrah Faraj, the Marketing Manager.
