The University Hosts Thinksmart for Development and Training UoB Students Learn About Training Opportunities for Professional Certificates in The Field of Cloud Computing Security

The Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies at the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Mohammed Reda Qader, stressed the importance of training and qualifying Bahraini youth in the field of cloud computing, and enabling them to acquire educational and practical experiences and skills, which provide them with prestigious job opportunities.
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies organized a seminar titled “Forsati: Your First Step Towards Computing and Cloud Security,” presented by Abdulrahim Essam, a senior cloud trainer at the Thinksmart for Development and Training, on Wednesday (May 10, 2023), in the hall of the Al-Salam Educational Center, which was attended by a number of students from the College of Information Technology majoring in information systems, information technology, and computer engineering, in addition to interested students from the College of Business Administration.
Trainer Essam reviewed the most prominent features of the two Microsoft certifications: “Azure Fundamentals”, which includes cloud concepts, infrastructure and services, management and governance in Azure, in addition to the “Security Fundamentals” certificate. Essam also discussed the types of cloud computing, cloud services and solutions provided by Microsoft Azure in relation to applications, including creating, testing, installing and managing applications, and other services, through a global network of data centers managed by Microsoft.
Moreover, Marwa Radwan, Project Manager at Thinksmart, presented a summary of the Institute’s most prominent services to university students, including the “Forsati” project, which is an initiative between Microsoft, Tamkeen and Thinksmart, which aims to help Bahraini youth acquire professional skills in the field of information and communication technology, to compete in the global economy, enhance productivity, and lead the future of the information technology industry and the national economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Amal Mohammed Al-Rayes, Assistant Professor at the College of Information Technology at UoB, a number of members of the Thinksmart, and students attending the Institute at UoB.
