Academians of the University of Bahrain Recognize the Benefits of a Speaker Simulation Program

Professor of Electronic Engineering and Wireless Communications at the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain, Prof. Mohab Abdulhameed Mangoud, stressed that the artificial intelligence program “GBT Chat”, which simulates a human speaker, has many benefits related to enhancing the education process and providing innovative educational experiences, and interactive opportunities for students.

 

Prof. Mangoud made this statement during a seminar held for faculty members at the University of Bahrain under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. He spoke about the “Chat GBT” program and reviewed the applications of the program in education and scientific research, highlighting the program’s capabilitiesand its academic uses, effects, and rapid spread.

 

The symposium, held online, was moderated by the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Dr. Mohammad Ali Bin Shams, who introduced the ChatGPT platform as a linguistic model for artificial intelligence, which is a model capable of interacting with users through conversation, including answering questions, even the complex ones.

 

Prof. Mangoud reviewed the theory of the work of the advanced language model, through artificial intelligence and machine learning, and explained how to enhance teaching, research, and student interaction using this innovative technology and explore the potential of ChatGPT in various academic disciplines.

 

Prof. Mangoud spoke on the practical knowledge and strategies needed to effectively utilize ChatGPT in the teaching practices of faculty. He discussed ethical considerations, challenges, and best practices for integrating the platform into teaching, research, and student support.

 

During the seminar, in which about 80 academians from the University of Bahrain and other universities participated, professor Mangoud reviewed methods for disclosing reports, academic papers and research extracted from the program.
