An Academic at UoB Participates in The Meetings of IOV

A faculty member at the Bahrain Teachers College (BTC) at the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Masooma Ali Al-Mutawa, participated in the meetings of the branch of the International Organization of Folk Art (IOV) in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, and in the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the launch of the Folklore Festival in Brazil during 26-31 of last July.

As Dr. Al-Mutawa participated in the two events as a representative of the Presidential Office of IOV for Folklore in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting of the Organization’s branch in Buenos Aires – done with the presence of a group of officials – discussed providing the necessary media support to deliver the Latin folklore to other countries around the world. While she participated in the official celebration held by the state of Nova in Tripolis, Brazil, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the annual folklore festival, in the presence of the governor of the state, and directors of associations concerned with folk heritage and art, where ways of contributing to the preservation of the intangible heritage of South America were discussed.

It is worth noting that Dr. Al-Mutawa holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Education from Cairo University in 2010, in addition to a British Fellowship Certificate in Teaching from the Academy of Higher Education in Britain in 2015. Also, she obtained a group of professional development certificates in teaching from Harvard University in America in 2022.

Dr. Al-Mutawa has been researching and writing for a long time and has published several academic research in international peer-reviewed journals, in addition to several scientific and literary publications.
