During the Signing of An Agreement With “Amakin” to Support the Modernization of the Laboratories of University’s College of Engineering The President of UoB Notes the Role of the Private Sector in Developing the Research Infrastructure

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), stressed the importance of enhancing partnership prospects with the private sector in supporting scientific research and developing the research infrastructure in higher education institutions, praising the continuous support provided by the Bahrain Car Parks Company “Amakin” to develop the University’s laboratories.

The President of UoB, recived a delegation from Amakin, led by its CEO, Tariq Ali Al-Jowder, in his office at the University campus in Sakhir, where a support agreement was signed, which stipulates the partial development of some of the laboratories of the College of Engineering at the University.

The University President praised the Company’s initiative, which will enable the University to provide the College of Engineering laboratories with high-performance devices and screens, which shall assist researchers and students with completing their work and research projects.

Moreover, the meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the University and Amakin, and the partnership between the two sides in training students, and benefiting from some student ideas and projects, which fall within the scope of the prominent Company’s work.

For his part, Tariq Ali Al-Jowder, CEO of Amakin, thanked the University President for the warm reception and welcome, pointing out the importance of the role played by UoB in graduating qualified cadres in various specializations, which contribute to advancing the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In adittionTariq Al-Jowder pointed out that the support provided by the Company comes within its social responsibility strategy, to support the higher education sector and various vital sectors for their growth and prosperity.

From UoB, the meeting was attended by Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Dean of the College of Information Technology, and Fadl Ghanem Al-Buainain, Head of the Research and Studies Department in the University President’s Office.

While the delegation from Amakin included: Abdullah Issa Qudrat, Business Development Manager, Fatema Fuad Alkhan, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, and Asmaa Abdullah, Senior Specialist for Public Relations and Marketing.

It is worth noting that Amakin, which specializes in parking management and real estate leasing, was established in 1981, and is the exclusive agent in the Kingdom of Bahrain for Scheidt & Bachmann, the leading German company in offering smart parking solutions.
