Students of the Rhythmic Movements course at the Department of Physical Education at the College of Health and Sports Sciences at the University of Bahrain excelled in simulating a group of Bahraini folk heritages, during an activity titled “Freejna Games 2”.

The Bahraini Folklore Activity – organized by Dr. Sawsan Taqawi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Education, aims to promote awareness regarding the heritage of popular cultural movements in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The activity included a group of corners that reflected the heritage of Bahraini culture, and simulated popular social traditions, including folk songs, popular hospitality, in addition to a group of popular games and competitions, which added an atmosphere of entertainment and fun for the attendees.

Dr. Taqwai said: “This activity reflects the cultural and social diversity in Bahraini society, enhances communication between students and the local community, links the past with the present, and contributes to the preservation of folklore and its transmission to future generations.”

Dr. Taqawi explained that the Bahraini Folk Legacies Activity (Frigna Games 2) is an opportunity for students to discover the culture and heritage of popular movements in the Kingdom of Bahrain and enables them to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired from the course in practice. The activity also enhances social and cultural interaction between students and society and contributes to enhancing belonging and pride in Bahraini folklore.
