Minister of Education: University of Bahrain remains the solid foundation for bright higher education in the Kingdom of Bahrain

 

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the University of Bahrain organized the graduation ceremony of the 25th batch of its students. In the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Information, Mrs. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, and a number of officials, academics and parents, at Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Hall in Sakhir.

During the ceremony, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University delivered a speech in which he extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him, for kindly supporting the ceremony, pointing out that this ceremony is held in light of the blessed renaissance achieved by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. May Allah protect him.

The Minister congratulated the graduating students and their parents, praising the university’s administration represented by its president and other academic and administrative staff, noting the University’s pivotal and pioneering role in embracing students and graduating successive batches of graduates from decision-makers, and qualified national cadres equipped with modern sciences, as they occupy various leadership positions of various degrees and names, in a shining evidence of the efficiency, ability and high professionalism of the graduates of the University of Bahrain.

The Minister also stressed the role played by the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, and its efforts to update the policies, regulations and regulatory procedures that guide the direction of the higher education sector in the Kingdom, in order to enhance the gains achieved over the past years, in order to improve the quality of university education and its outputs, and to keep pace with the latest trends and developments in education in the world, confirming the Council’s support for all public and private university educational institutions, and its pride in the integration of their roles and their keenness to improve the quality of their academic programs and outputs.

Then Dr. Fouad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the university’s pride in graduating more than 92,000 of its students since its establishment in 1986. Its pride in the achievements of its current students who innovate in all fields, pointing out that the past year was full of achievements, through the university’s students obtaining many first and advanced positions at the local and international levels, as individuals and as groups, in the scientific, artistic and sports fields, thus underlining the most beautiful images of dedication, mastery, determination, and patriotism.

He explained that the University of Bahrain adapts its plans and programs to achieve national goals and objectives related to the development of human capabilities, investment in human beings, and care for them, as the focus of the sustainable development process, and its main force, pointing to the continuation of expanding the number graduate programs being offered, stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship, and providing value-added consultations to the community.

Graduate student Noor Ahmed Ibrahim delivered a speech in which she expressed her pride in her national university, “which is still a lofty scientific edifice that produces generations after generations, contributing to the comprehensive national renaissance.”

She praised the wise leadership’s directives and support, which resulted in all these endeavors and efforts, promising to achieve the national obligation with love and pride, and that “Bahrain remains in our hearts and on our shoulders, continuing what we have started from learning and giving, to elevate this country.”

Mr. Hisham Al Rayes, CEO of GFH Group and Board Member and guest of the ceremony, delivered a speech in which he stressed the University’s impact, from which he graduated, on his personal formation, method of work and successes, through the student work in which he was active, and the cultural, artistic and scientific projects in which he worked on, directing a set of tips to graduate students who are entering the labor market.
