UOB Theater Club wins awards at the Theater Festival for Universities in Taif

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, congratulated the University of Bahrain Theater Club team for winning several awards at the Sixth University Theater Festival for Universities and Higher Education Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, for the play “Travelers”, thanking the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fatema Mohamed Al-Malki, and all members of the Deanship for their continuous efforts to support student activity at the university.

Director Ibrahim Khalfan won the Best Director Award, Lamia Al-Shuwaikh won the Best Female Artist Award in first place, Badr Al Mahmoud won the Best Actor Award in second place, Ali Abu Deeb received a certificate of appreciation for a talent that deserves attention, and Ahmed Fardan received a certificate of appreciation for a talent that deserves attention, in addition to that, the play was nominated for the best integrated work and the best scenography.

The play is written by Saleh Al-Mannai and directed by the artist Ibrahim Khalfan and supervised by Sheikha Bukamal.

The festival was held under the patronage of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission in Taif, Saudi Arabia, from (21-25 April 2024), with the participation of ten Gulf universities.
