College of Applied Studies Discusses Associate’s Degree Program in Industrial Engineering Technology

The Coordinating Committee of the Associate Program in Industrial Engineering Technology at the Engineering Programs Department at the College of Applied Education discussed plans to develop the Associate Diploma Program in Industrial Engineering Technology, the skills associated with it and needed by the labor market, and job opportunities.

During the online meeting, the committee also presented the industrial engineering technology program’s curriculum, the academic courses offered in the program, methods of evaluation, job and training opportunities. In addition to discussing the resources and modern technology necessary for the program, ways to enhance practical interaction and industrial partnerships, and future market needs.

The Associate of Industrial Engineering Technology degree program is a two-year applied program launched in September 2023,  that aims to provide an applied academic foundation in core areas of industrial technology, including electrical, mechanical, chemical and digital systems engineering including industrial subjects such as energy, petroleum, manufacturing and materials technology to enable students with technical skills and interdisciplinary practical knowledge in response to the labor market.

The program’s coordinating committee includes experts from industrial companies and training institutions in the industrial field in the Kingdom of Bahrain who are interested in the program’s quality of outputs and the level of its graduates. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Bucheeri, Manpower, Training and Development Controller at Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), Yasser Al Rumaithi, Director of Human Resources at the Electricity and Water Authority, Stand-in, Sayed Diaa Hassan, Head of Professional Development at the Training Department at the Electricity and Water Authority, Terrence Harrison, Senior Training Advisor at Bapco Refining, and Sana Al-Kooheji, Director of Industrial Partnership at Nasser Vocational Rehabilitation and Training Center. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Wafa Al-Madani, Director of the Engineering Programs Department, with the presence of Dr. Jaffar Hammad, Assistant Professor at the College of Applied Studies.
