HRH the Crown Prince patrons Bahrain Teachers College graduation ceremony Minister of Education Confirms Continued Growth of BTC Inputs and Programs to Develop Education
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him, Bahrain Teachers College at the University of Bahrain held the graduation ceremony of its twelfth batch of students from the graduates of the academic year 2023/2022, and graduates of the first semester of the academic year 2024/2023, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UOB, a number of ministers, officials, academics, and a large gathering of students and parents, at Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa’s Hall at the University.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Education delivered a speech in which he expressed his great pride in the graduation ceremony coinciding with the anniversary of the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Allah Khalifa’s accession to power, stressing that the educational family is proud of the dear kingdom’s pioneering gains and achievements in various fields, especially in the educational sector, during the prosperous era of His Majesty, with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him.
His Excellency congratulated the students and their parents, the members of the Board of Directors and members of the academic and administrative bodies of the college, which is one of the most important pillars of the strategic project implemented by the Ministry of Education, which aims to prepare teachers in an integrated manner, improve school leaders, enhance the quality of the educational environment, develop teaching methods, and improve educational outcomes.
The Minister of Education noted the strategic plans, programs, initiatives and educational projects pursued by the government under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him, and its role in laying the foundations necessary to build a modern educational system that keeps pace with global transformations and meets the kingdom’s needs of qualified cadres and competencies to support the process of development and giving. He then pointed to the great work done by the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Council and the University of Bahrain to upgrade the college’s mission, enhance its educational role and increase its radiance, which is reflected in increasing the demand of high school graduates from year to year to enroll in and study in its programs, and in graduating the first batch of Boston University graduates from the Master of Educational Leadership program.
Then Dr. Lucy Bailey, Dean of Bahrain Teachers College, delivered a speech in which she congratulated the students on their graduation, stressing her faith and full confidence in the graduates, and their ability to shape the minds of young people, so that they can contribute to advancing the Kingdom’s economy, and said: “We evaluated you accurately, and you proved that you have all the competencies required by the Ministry of Education, University of Bahrain, and Bahrain Teachers College, so you must enter your new schools and classrooms with confidence, as today you are qualified and ready to receive your classes.”
Then the guest of the ceremony, Dr. Hanada Taha Tamir, Chair Professor of Arabic Language at Zayed University in U.A.E. and former Dean of Bahrain Teachers College, delivered a speech in which she said: “Today, as you bid farewell to one stage and accept another, you bid farewell to the college corridors and halls, and you bid farewell to the trees at University, which has shadowed you for four years, to set out towards wide worlds, I would like you to express your thanks to the professors who provided you with knowledge, nurtured your scientific and psychological development, and your families, who were a rock of stability during your sweet and difficult experiences, and to your peers who enriched your journey with thousands of moments and laughter.”
She continued: “The world is waiting for you, the next generations of Bahrain are waiting for you, do not disappoint them, the world is waiting for your unique potential, you are the ones who will make tomorrow, and you are the ones who will plant for the generations to come.”
Student Bushra Bader Al-Owainati then delivered the speech of the graduating students in Arabic, and the student Alia Taha Moussa delivered the graduates’ speech in English.
The graduation ceremony included 731 graduates from the following programs: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Graduate Diploma in Education, (PGDE), Higher Diploma in School Leadership (SLP), Higher Diploma in Teacher Leadership (TLP), Higher Diploma in Special Education (SEP), in addition to graduates of the Master of Educational Leadership program from Boston University.
