Students From the Kingdom of Bahrain Achieve Third Place in Huawei’s International Competition in China

Students from the Kingdom of Bahrain won third place worldwide in the Computer Networks track of the Huawei International Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Competition in Shenzhen, China, in which 170,000 students participated, from more than 2,000 universities and colleges in 80 countries.

The Kingdom’s team consisted of the students: Sayed Mohammed Baqer Adnan and Ali Nasser Al-Fadhli, from the Computer Engineering Department at the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain (UOB), and student Fahad Abdullah from the Bahrain Technical College “Bahrain Polytechnic”.

On this occasion, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of UOB, expressed his pride and honor in UOB’s distinguished students, and in the wonderful achievements they successively accomplish at various levels, especially in international competitions, stressing that their victory in this global competition shall be added to the series of excellence and achievements attained by the students during past years.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Ansari praised the cooperation between UOB and Huawei in the scientific and technical fields and student training, praising the services provided by Huawei to the students of UOB, through the recent inauguration of the Huawei Academy at UOB’s College of Information Technology.

For his part, Mr. Aziz Tang, CEO of Huawei in the Kingdom of Bahrain, congratulated the winning teams from the Kingdom of Bahrain on their amazing performance in the world final and their excellence in winning prestigious awards.
