Dean of CHSS participates in a session organized by the Royal Medical Services on International Nurses Day
Dr. Leena Mohammed Khonji, Dean of the College of Health and Sports Sciences at the University of Bahrain, participated in a ceremony organized by the Royal Medical Services recently, on the International Nurses Day 2024, where she reviewed the most important developments in the shortage of the health workforce at the local, regional and global levels.
In a panel discussion titled: “Our nurses, our future, the economic power of care”, Dr. Khonji spoke about the most important national efforts to fill the shortage of nursing staff and develop the skills and competencies of nursing staff in order to rely on local manpower.
Dr. Khonji also spoke regarding the impact of these endeavors on the economic growth of countries, considering nurses as a key factor for health and economic growth and the sustainability of health care with the required quality.
Major General Dr. Fouad Abdul Qader, Director of the Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Heart Center, honored Dr. Leena Khonji as she received a commemorative shield on this occasion.
