Selected From Among Thousands of Applicants from Around the World President of UOB Meets with Students Accepted to CERN Program in Switzerland

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, met with the University’s students who were selected from among thousands of applicants around the world, to join the two-month summer internship at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland, starting on July 1st, with the participation of 300 students from around the world.
The University President urged the interns to benefit from this valuable opportunity, harness it in the best ways, engage in the internship program effectively, and present an honorable image as students of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The list of interns affiliated with the University includes three students: Ala’a Sameer from the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering, Maryam Kameshki from the Department of Computer Science in the College of Information Technology, and Sanaa Ruknulddin from the Department of Physics in the College of Science.
The participation of UOB students in the summer internship program comes within the framework of scientific cooperation between UOB, CERN, and the Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research.
The CERN internship program provides university students with a series of lectures prepared by a group of scientists and researchers in the field of theoretical and experimental particle physics, computers, and engineering, in addition to discussion sessions, workshops, and the development of a research project under the supervision of a CERN researcher, provided that the intern must submit a report on his/her internship at the end of the program.
