In Cooperation with The Embassy of The Kingdom of Thailand UOB Launches a New Agricultural Initiative to Increase Its Green Area

In cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the University of Bahrain launched an initiative to plant the “Golden Shower Tree” on the university campus, as part of the national afforestation campaign. This took place in the presence of Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of the University, and Her Excellency Sheikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for the Agricultural Sector Development, and Mr. Nuttapat Chumnijarakij, Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The President of UOB expressed his pleasure in cooperating with the Embassy of Thailand to complete the afforestation initiative at the University and plant this type of tree that carries a national heritage in the friendly Kingdom, stressing the University’s keenness to increase its green area.

For his part, Chargé d’Affaires of the Thai Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Nuttapat Chumnijarakij, confirmed that the Kingdom of Thailand is keen to strengthen areas of cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that the afforestation initiative comes in celebration of the friendly relations between the two countries.
