BENEFIT and University of Bahrain announce winner of the ‘Art Piece Competition’

BENEFIT, the leading FinTech and electronic financial transaction service in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and The University of Bahrain, the national government university of Bahrain, celebrated creative talent and innovative skills during the closing ceremony of the ‘Art Piece Competition’ held at the university’s campus. The ceremony was attended by officials and representatives of stakeholders as well as students’ families, including Dr. Fuad Al Ansari, UOB President, Dr. Haifa Al Khalifa, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University, Mr. Abdulwahid Al Janahi, CEO of BENEFIT, and Mr. Yusuf Al Nufaie, Deputy CEO of the company.

This competition is a unique initiative aimed at promoting innovation and creativity among Bahraini students studying in the departments of architecture, art and design. The competition encourages students to discover the intersection of art and technology, and to contribute effectively to supporting the rapidly changing financial services sector.

Many students and groups participated in the competition, where the final list of four distinguished projects was selected by a jury that included a group of specialized experts: Adel Alkooheji – Head of Digital Marketing and Online Media in BENEFIT, Lulwa Sami – Communications & Marketing Directorate, in Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), Mohamed Jawad owner of Fekra Design Studio, and Hasan Janahi owner of Moonlight Gallery.

During the ceremony, students Jawaher Hajres and Walaa Sultan from University of Bahrain were honored for their outstanding designs and creative skills in the competition organized by BENEFIT. Their artwork, Beyond Borders into the Future, won the award, and reflects BENEFIT’s core values of simplicity, innovation, responsibility and empowerment.

The art piece was based on a simple rectangle wrapped in flowing twisted lines. The rectangle reflects the concept of solid realistic boundaries, while the twisted lines indicate the possibilities and unlimited freedom offered by the future. This image highlights BENEFIT’s commitment to pushing boundaries and unlocking future potentials and opportunities. In recognition of their outstanding design, BENEFIT presented the two winners with a cash prize of BD 1,000, with their winning art pieces permanently displayed at the entrance of BENEFIT’s headquarters.

This initiative comes as part of a series of initiatives by the BENEFIT FinTech Award, reaffirming BENEFIT’s commitment to supporting local talent and fostering a culture of innovation and creativity in the Kingdom. Through launching impactful initiatives and competitions, BENEFIT empowers local talent to actively participate in shaping the Kingdom’s future.
