UOB signs an agreement with the ACCA of to encourage students to obtain the professional certificate

The University of Bahrain has signed an agreement with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), to enable university students to pass the requirements of obtaining a professional certificate and obtaining membership in the association.

In the presence of Dr. Fuad Mohamed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, the agreement was signed by Dr. Abdullah Khalid Al-Jalahma, Acting Dean of the College of Business Administration, and Mr. Taher Kabassi, Director of the Middle East Office for Educational Relations, on behalf of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

In turn, the UOB President praised the existing cooperation between the university and the ACCA, through which the university seeks to facilitate students’ access to the best services and professional experiences, to overcome the challenges in the accounting field, through the application of internationally recognized and approved accounting standards.

UOB President said: “We are keen that our students contribute to the development of accounting and financial services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, by acquiring these skills from accredited bodies, and in accordance with the best practices and standards applied globally,” stressing the role of professional certificates and qualifications in enhancing qualitative opportunities for university students, and access to prestigious professional jobs.

For his part, Mr. Taher Kabassi, Director of the Middle East Office for Educational Relations at the (ACCA), pointed out that the professional qualification from the association provides students with the technical, professional and ethical skills that employers around the world are looking for, to align them with the continuous developments in the profession.

The (ACCA) has more than 500,000 members and students in 170 different countries, making it the most widely available certification in the world.
