Students showcase over 70 projects offering innovative solutions IT & Applied Studies’ Students at UOB Employ Modern Technologies in Solving Societal and Professional Problems

Dr. Fuad Mohamed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, stressed that the applied graduation projects of the students from the Colleges of Information Technology and Applied Studies highlight the students’ ability to apply advanced technologies to solve societal and professional problems, which reflects their skills in creating innovative and effective practical solutions.
The president spoke during the exhibition of student projects from the Colleges of Information Technology and Applied Studies for the academic year 2023/2024, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Members of the academic and administrative bodies, students, and their parents attended the exhibition.
Dr. Al Ansari expressed his delight with the remarkable development in the level of projects submitted by students, considering that graduation projects are an important station that paves the way for graduates to move to the labor market with confidence. He pointed out that the development in the preparation and design of student projects, and the increase in the percentage of employers’ satisfaction with graduates, are indicators of excellence in student preparation, entrepreneurship and innovation in projects.
The exhibition included 75 applied projects, including 51 projects for students in the departments of computer engineering, computer science, and information systems at the College of IT, and 24 projects in the programs of the Engineering Programs Department and the Department of Administrative and Technical Programs at the College of Applied Studies.
The topics of the College of IT projects highlighted augmented reality, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, social robotics, cybersecurity, in addition to the development of digital games, and students provided solutions to real problems using modern technologies.
While the students’ projects at the College of Applied Studies included a variety of smart initiatives, Internet of Things projects integrated with technical and administrative monitoring and control systems, in addition to electrical and mechanical operating technology, smart systems in homes, parking lots, the use of solar energy, assisting the blind, and smart agriculture.
