Celebrating National Tree Week

In support of the initiatives of the national action plan for achieving carbon neutrality announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may Allah protect him, and within the framework of the National Tree Week, established during the third week of October each year, by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, together with several UoB officials and employees, planted some trees at the university’s campus in Sakhir.
The Tree Week enhances the outcomes of the afforestation plan, which aims to double the number of trees to 3.6 million trees by 2035, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitments to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
