Student at the University of Bahrain Wins the Golden Prize in Global Music Awards

Mohammed Al-Murbati, a student at the UoB, won the golden medal in the “Golden Music Awards” which is considered as one of the most important competitions that honors artists from all over the world.

The competition is considered one of the competitions that celebrate original and unique works. It honours independent musicians and is considered a testimony to the artistic credibility of musicians around the world.

Al-Murbati, a student at the College of Arts, achieved the golden medal for his participation in the music album entitled “Winter Stories”.

In his speech about “Winter Stories”, Al-Murbati said, “The album contains seven pieces of music. Each piece represents a condition in winter. One of the pieces is titled “My Last Letter” which is inspired by the famous poet Nizar Qabbani”.

When asked about choosing the title “Winter Stories”, Al-Murbati answered, “I chose the name for I started working on my album in October, 2016. It was winter. I personified each condition of winter in all its details, the sounds of the wind, rain and others. All these were a real source of inspiration in all the pieces of the album”.

Al-Murbati explained that his participation was just as an experiment, stating, “I never expected to win as there were many great musicians participating from all over the world. The competition was so high among them,” he continued, “for the first time I did not believe winning the golden medal prize among all the competitors especially it has been my first participation”.

Al-Murbati explained, “My participation was under the “Easy Listening Jazz” category, which is one kind of music”. The winners of the first places received gold, silver and bronze medals.

Al-Murbati announced the date of launching his first album “Winter Stories” which will be next Thursday the 6th of April, at “Maljaa Lilfonoon” (A Refuge for Arts) at Amwaj Island.
