University of Bahrain announces the admission of 6000 new students for the academic year 2017/2018
The University of Bahrain announced on Saturday (September 9, 2017) the results of admission to the first degree for the new academic year 2017/2018. The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Riyad Yousef Hamzah, congratulated the students and wished them success. He pointed out that the University had prepared from the first stage all the possibilities for receiving new students. All secondary school graduates, public and private schools, with an average of 70% or more were admitted, pursuant to the Royal Decree.
The President of the University expressed the pride of all the University staff members with the continuous support to the University by the wise leadership, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, the Supreme President of the University; His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister; and the government.
The results of the admission were sent to applicants via SMS. Around 7,500 students had applied for the first-degree programs, and nearly 6,000 of them had completed all admission requirements.
The Deanship of Admissions and Registration at the University stated that if some students applying were not mentioned on the admission lists, then this is due to one of the following: either the student did not attend the personal interview, he/she did not apply for the capacity test, he/she did not deliver his/her final results in the secondary school, or he/she did not complete the other requirements. If these students are still interested in joining the University of Bahrain, they should follow the instructions on the results website in order for their applications to be processed.
The Deanship also pointed out the importance of confirming admission for those students who have passed the admission steps at the University. They should confirm their admission from Sunday until the next Thursday (14th September) through the student electronic data management system https://sis.uob.edu.bh in order to maintain their academic opportunity and their seats in the specializations they chose. Failure to confirm admission in the above period will be considered by the University as a wish by the student to cancel his/her enrolment.
The University will allow students to express their desire to change the disciplines in which they have been accepted through filling in an online form after the student has confirmed his/her admission, so that the vacant seats will be used as a result of the unwillingness of some students to confirm their admission.
The University has successfully registered various batches of students enrolled. So far nearly 35% of the total number of university students have registered according to the schedule prepared and published by the Deanship of Admission and Registration for add/drop periods. Registration continues until Friday 15 September 2017.
