Dr Walid Azzam appointed Head of Physics Department

Assistant Professor Dr. Walid Jameel Azzam became the Head of the Department of Physics, College of Science at the University. Dr. Azzam holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Stanford University, USA in 1996 and a Master’s degree from the same university in 1992.

Dr. Azzam has over 20 years of teaching experience and has worked at a number of universities, including the UAE University in the United Arab Emirates. He has over 25 years of research experience in the field of gamma rays and cosmology, and has published 30 scientific papers and co-organized 20 astronomy and space science workshops.

Dr. Azzam is a member of the American Astronomical Society and the Bahrain Astronomical Society.
