Concluding the Education Week Events with the University of Bahrain
British Council Bahrain organises the annual Study UK Exhibition 2017, giving prospective students for undergraduate and graduate programmes the opportunity to meet representatives from universities, colleges and educational institutions. The exhibition will take place on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning and evening, 1-2 November 2017 at the University of Bahrain.
Organised annually by the British Council, this education exhibition is expected to attract over 1500 visitors to meet representatives from up to 20 UK universities and institutions. The exhibition will be opened by His Excellency; Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr Simon Martin and the opening will be attended by key figures from the education sector.
The Study UK Exhibition is part of British Council’s initiative to enhance cultural and educational relations between Bahrain and the UK by helping create a knowledge-based economy. Prospective students from across Bahrain are invited to attend the exhibition to obtain information about education opportunities, admission, available programmes and scholarships directly from the universities’ representatives.
Richard Rooze, British Council Director, said: “More than 1,000 young Bahrainis choose to study in the UK, so we are very pleased to welcome this delegation of British higher education institutions to Bahrain to showcase the programmes they offer. Bahraini students and their parents will have the opportunity to explore UK higher education and to get first-hand answers to any questions they may have about studying there. I strongly encourage everyone who is thinking about studying abroad to visit the exhibition – you will find it a very worthwhile experience.â€
The University of Bahrain continues to hold intensive educational activities for the second year with British Council in Bahrain, which is a testament to their dedication towards student development, as they also grow to further their academic ties with many UK institutions and universities, such as the Higher Education Academy, with which they have signed a Global Partnership
Agreement last April.
The Study UK Exhibition provides students with the chance to learn more about UK education opportunities and courses and the extensive choices being offered for degree programmes at every level or even English language and vocational skills. There will also be information about institutions, entry requirements, visas and travel. As well as a dedicated Bahrain UK Alumni corner where students can ask alumni about their experience first-hand.
British Council also plays an important role in providing opportunities for both Middle East and UK institutions to meet potential partners for mutually beneficial collaborations in transnational education and research.
This year, students can experience the exhibition through British Council’s new “Study UK Exhibitions†mobile app, which is downloadable for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android devices. This mobile allows students to learn about British Council exhibitions around the world and view the accompanying activities and events and the participating institutions.
