Prof. Hamzah Congratulates Bahraini Winners of ‘Mohammed Bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher’
Prof. Riyad Y. Hamzah, President of the University of Bahrain, congratulated Bahraini teachers on winning the first edition of the ‘Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher.’
Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the “Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher” (MBZ Award) was launched in Abu Dhabi this year.
Prof. Hamzah said that ‘three out of the four teachers who have won the MBZ Award graduated from the University of Bahrain. We are so honoured that our graduates had the opportunity to take part in and represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in this important competition, organised at the level of all GCC countries. This emphasises that the University adopts exceptional teaching practices. We are committed to matching our graduates’ skills to the best international practices in teaching and learning. We are always proud of our graduates, especially those who face future challenges with a strong determination.’
‘Winning the Award adds to the University’s latest achievements. According to the QS World University Ranking 2018, the University of Bahrain has ranked 411 in Employer Reputation among 25000 universities worldwide,’ added Prof. Hamzah.
The winners of the ‘Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher’ are:
- Amina Nabil Al Rumaihi from Al Noor Secondary School for Girls.
- Munira Khalid Al Zayani from Arad Primary School.
- Fatima Salem Rajab from Muharraq Primary School for Girls.
Prof. Hamzah also said, ‘the University continues to imporve and develop its academic programs to meet the rapidly changing world and achieve sustainable development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Action Plan.’
