With the participation of more than seventy professors and experts specialized in the field of quality of education from Arab and foreign universities and institutions, participants in the “Quality Assurance 2020” forum, which was organized by the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Center at the University of Bahrain (UOB) on Thursday (6 February 2020), discussed the most important challenges and difficulties facing the future of higher education organizations, and global technological and technological variables.
The participants at the Forum, which was held at the Sofitel Hotel, discussed future challenges on the quality of educational outcomes and the challenges of the labor market, based on the changing nature of educational qualifications.
While the Forum’s speakers presented working papers and practical experiences in various higher education quality organizations in the Arab, European, Asian and African regions.
During the forum, Dr. Susanna Karakhanyan, President of INQAAHE Foundation, spoke about the present and future of international accreditation for academic programs, while the Director of the Higher Education Department at the Education and Training Quality Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Lobna Al Khalifa, discussed the importance of learning based on evaluation results as a tool to enhance teaching. Also, the President of the Arab Computer Society, Dr. Ramzi Al-Harati, discussed how to meet the challenges of assessing student learning outcomes, while Business Development Manager (RimaOne) Axel Borschbach spoke about the importance of data management in higher education.
Moreover, the Dean and Associate Professor of the College of Nursing at Sultan Qaboos University Dr. Omar Al-Rawajfa demonstrated an expirment, as well as the Director of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation at Sultan Qaboos University Dr. Khaled Al-Omari, who showed the experience of academic accreditation as an opportunity to improve learning assessment.
The Forum was attended by the President of UOB, Dr. Riyad Yousif Hamzah, and the CEO of the Education and Training Quality Authority, Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, and the Forum’s works included a panel discussion on “The Value Of Expert Participation In The Development Of Learning Qualityâ€, which involved the President of INQAAHE Dr. Susanna Karakhanyan, Director, Academic Development & Commericial Initiative at Bahrain Polytechnic Eman Janahi, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce Basim Al-Saie, and it was supervised by the Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at UOB, Dr. Luisella Balbis.
