UOB Holds Two Virtual Seminars on Scientific Publishing and Managing Work from Home

News 28 06 2020 1On Monday (29 June 2020), the University of Bahrain (UOB) is holding two virtual seminars organized by the Department of Management and Marketing at the College of Business, on publishing in scientific journals, as well as management of personnel who work from home.

Under the title “Publication in High Impact Magazines”, the first seminar shall start at eleven in the morning, with the Assistant Professor of Management at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Dr. Mohammed Imran Qureshi and the Assistant Professor of Management in the Department of Management and Marketing at UOB Dr. Sobia Irum giving lectures.

The Seminar aims to impart practical knowledge about the process of publishing research and studies in high-impact journals, and it deals with several axes, the most important of which are: How to choose the appropriate scientific journal according to the nature of the research, what are the current issues that must be addressed to be accepted for publication in first priority journals, and how the process of reviewing research in scientific journals is carried out, and it is intended that the lecturer will address the method of calculating the research impact index (H), and how to increase the number of citations from the research.

While the second seminar was under the title “Working from Home: How to Manage Remote Personnel”, which shall be presented by the lecturer in Management Information Systems and Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University, British Dr. Abiola Intago, and will be with the engagement of the Head of Management and Marketing Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Mesfer Mubarak Almuhanadi.

The Seminar addresses several axes, the most important of which are: Knowing the tools for managing remote personnel, the challenges facing administrators, and how to ensure the continuity of effective work.

Also, the Seminar aims to note the type of support that must be provided to remote personnel, and the pursuit of the sustainability of remote work after the Corona crisis.
