The “Renewable Energy Laboratories” at the University of Bahrain hold a clean energy workshop The Renewable Energy Laboratories at the College of Science holds “Promoting Girls role in Clean Energy sector” workshop over a period of two weeks from 14 to 25 March 2021 through Microsoft Teams. Dr. Hanan Mubarak Albuflasa, the head of the Physics department at the University’s College of Science stated that the workshop is the result of cooperation between the Renewable Energy Laboratories and Sharifa Alawadhi Youth and Children Club of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

Dr. Albuflasa added that registration is open to the girls of the University of Bahrain faculty members, and that 100 girls from the age group 12-18 years are expected to participate in this workshop. She indicated that this workshop is aligned with the university’s goals towards social responsibility, and enabling girls to acquire knowledge and skills, and to promote equal opportunities in the field of clean energy.

A faculty member, Dr. Karim Ben Messai, from the College of Science at the University of Bahrain and three experts in the field of renewable energy will be present during the workshop to provide the girls with guidance and assistance during the workshop and in the final stages of the competition.

The participants will be provided with the necessary equipment to work on the final project for the competition, using solar panels to create a clean energy model.
