College of Arts at UOB Organizes the First College Partners Forum

news A 15 3 2020 4aThe College of Arts at the University of Bahrain (UOB) organized the first forum for the partners of the College of Arts today, where officials from governmental and private institutions participated, in addition to the College’s professors and a group of its graduates.

In his speech during the opening of the Forum, Prof. Dr. Riyad Hamzah, President of the University of Bahrain, stressed the importance of working on new quality programs such as women’s studies, explaining that “the University is currently working on establishing associate diploma, higher diploma, and master’s programs according to the needs of the labor market.”

The University President promised that among the programs that are expected to be launched in the College of Arts soon include Associate Diploma in Family Arbitration, Diploma in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, and Diplomatic Media.

He further stated that ” The College of Arts seeks to achieve an exceptional position among the Colleges of Arts in the Arab region and the world, and it will be able to achieve that by developing its programs in line with the needs of the labor market and keeping pace with the rapid changes regionally and globally.”

Also, during the speech of the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Bulaila, stressed the importance of looking at the rapid changes in the process of developing the curricula and programs of the College of Arts and future envision, which has become among the most important features of artificial intelligence and its various applications.

The first discussion session discussed preparing graduates of the College of Arts in line with the requirements of the market, in which participated the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Affairs Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Bahar, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams, and the Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Education Dr. Fawaz Ahmed Al-Shrooqi.

Dr. Abdulrahman Bahar stressed the importance of the intersection of graduates with previous experiences in the workplace and the use of their knowledge to bridge the gap between theoretical and practical aspects, which can help create a smooth transfer of knowledge between generations, stressing the importance of developing programs that help in creating influence among learners and graduates.

For his part, the Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, Dr. Raed bin Shams, spoke about the compatibility between education outputs and the labor market, pointing to the universality of the problem where the question continues: How does the graduate find the suitable job and how does the graduate teach himself the needs of the jobs available to him, and if he can compete among indicators that confirm the change in jobs in the future. While Dr. Fawaz Al-Shrooqi confirmed the quality of UOB’s outputs and the need for university students who specialize in media to be aware of the policies of this sector.

The first discussion session called for creating academic programs capable of creating influence, as well as increasing passion in students, which helps them advance, create opportunities, and establish private enterprises.news A 15 3 2020 4c

The second session discussed ways to strengthen community partnership to ensure the quality of educational outputs of academic programs, in which spoke the General Director of the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture at the Ministry of Interior Mohammed bin Dinah, the Director of the Executive Office of the the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism Mr. Hala Sulaiman, the Political Adviser at Bahrain Institute for Political Development Mr. Khaled Fayadh, and the CEO of the Dania Rehabilitation Center Dr. Dania Naji Kabli,

While the third session discussed the strategy for developing programs of the College of Arts and introducing competitive programs in light of Bahrain’s 2030 vision and regional and international changes, which was moderated by Dr. Hatem Al-Suraidi, and in which spoke the Director General of Human Resources Development and Performance at the Civil Service Bureau Mr. Adel Haji Ibrahim, Dr. Hooreya Abbas Al-Dairi, and the Director of the Department Media and Publications Mr. Yousef Mohammed.
