The President of UoB Praises the Connotations of the Speech 

Announcing The Winners of The King Hamad Prize for Youth Empowerment 

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Prof. Riyad Yousif Hamzah, praised the lofty speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, at the ceremony announcing the winners of the third edition of the King Hamad Prize for Youth Empowerment to achieve the goals of sustainable development. 

Prof. Hamzah confirmed that during this year of the unprecedented spread of the pandemic, youth in the Kingdom of Bahrain and in the whole world showed exceptional abilities in coexisting with the current conditions and coming up many creative and sustainable solutions that resulted in several ideas despite the current situation. 

The President of UoB commended the great and continuous effort made by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, in offering such awards that fuel the spirit of competition, challenge and interaction among the youth of the world, bringing them closer and forging new relationships based on understanding and respect, and contributing to the establishment of peace in various parts of the world. 

Furthermore, he explained that UoB aims to achieve sustainable development goals, especially that the National University has a direct and strong relationship in achieving many of them, such as good health, quality education, gender equality, clean and affordable energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, climate action, life below water, peace, justice and strong institutions, and partnerships for the goals, noting that the sustainable development goals come within the daily work of students and are reflected in their research and graduation projects.
