Master Student in Human Resources Management at UoB Qualifies to Participate in the National Project “Lamea”

A student in the master’s in science in human resources management from the University of Bahrain (UoB) has qualified to participate in the national project “Lamea” under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, which is hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), and Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA).

Munira Khalid Al-Jaber, an employee in the Ministry of Finance and a master’s student at UoB, was selected and qualified from among 131 participants, to participate in the challenges phase of the national project “Lamea” with 30 qualified participants in October 2021.

“Lamea'” aims to create promising youth leaders, and a strong and rich base of youth competencies with integrated national awareness, who are qualified to assume leadership positions in various locations and fields in the Kingdom. The participants are subject to a set of tests and international training programs offered by BIPA, and finalists will be selected from the elite of those who were highly qualified, who will then move to the stage of preparing and proposing some projects that will empower the youth of the Kingdom.

The professor at the Department of Management and Marketing at the College of Business Administration at UoB, the coordinator of the Master’s in Science in Human Resources Management, Dr. Naglaa Fathy El-Dessouky, confirmed that the master’s program enriches students’ knowledge and refines their scientific and practical skills, to be qualified for such national projects.

She further added that “The program is based on advanced and modern concepts such as participation, innovation, and social impact creation, in order to play a vital role in society, and qualify students to become the forces of change in business enterprises, and participate in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.”

Moreover, the master’s student expressed her great joy in participating in this national project, and referred to the effective and fruitful role of the master’s program in forming leaders from the promising generation, to assume leadership positions with the aim of contributing to the progress of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and especially to advance the sustainable development goals (SDGs), to improve the lives of individuals and the planetary health.

The Master’s in Science in Human Resource Management program of the College of Business Administration at UoB seeks to provide its graduates with the necessary knowledge to become ethical leaders, able to successfully deal with the dynamic environment in the era of globalization, and to succeed in assuming important management positions in human resource management in local and global business institutions.
