In Preparation for the Upcoming Student Council Elections.. UoB Organizes a Workshop on the Rights and Duties of Student Candidates and Voters

The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Bahrain (UoB) recently organized a remote workshop, under the title: “Preparing for Student Elections: Rights and Duties Within Student Elections” through which it introduced the students to the goals and principles of the Student Council, and the rights and duties of the candidate and voter.
As the Assistant Professor at the College of Law, Dr. Saqer Eid Al-Ruwais, referred to the decisions regulating the Student Council, and the stages of the elections process, starting from the stage of considering joining those elections, early preparation for them, the electoral program, the electoral campaign, and the pre-voting stage, to the election day, the canvassing process, and ending with the candidate’s rights in each stage, and the candidate’s duties and rights.
For her part, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Maliki, stressed the importance of the workshop, especially with the University’s preparations for student elections. Pointing out that UoB abounds with a group of students who are qualified to assume leadership tasks in the positions they occupy, due to the characteristics and personal skills they have that qualify them to assume such responsibilities. Furthermore, she indicated that the role of the Deanship of Student Affairs is to create the atmosphere and provide the appropriate environment to enable students to discover their abilities and skills, by organizing initiatives, programs and activities, from which students benefit in refining their skills, discovering themselves, and emerging to the community and national institutions.
This workshop comes within the establishment and rehabilitation stage, and is the first stage of the “Future Leaders Development Program”, which is based on three aspects: the administrative and leadership aspect, the technical and psychological aspect, and the psychological aspect.
