The University Of Bahrain Appoints two Department Heads at the College of Business Administration; Dr. Al Jalahma for Accounting and Dr. Entessar for Islamic Banking

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen AlMudhaki, issued resolutions appointing two heads of two academic departments at the College of Business Administration for the next two years.

In accordance with Resolution No. (66) of 2022, Dr. Abdullah Khaled Al-Jalahma is appointed as Head of the Accounting Department at the College of Business Administration for two years. Dr. Al-Jalahma is a member of the Strategy Development Committee, and a member of the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Committee. He holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Nottingham (UK), 2019, and a master’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M University (USA), 2014. His research interests include quality of financial reporting, accounting information, corporate governance, and development and sustainability issues.

In accordance with Resolution No. (69) of 2022, Dr. Entessar Ali Abdulaziz was appointed as Head of the Islamic Banking Department at the College of Business Administration for two years. Dr. Entessar holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Melbourne, Australia, 2009 for her research on the impact of the compatibility or incompatibility of net profits with the forecasts of financial analysts on the cost of equity capital. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) from York St John University, 2010. Her research interests include capital markets, companies’ communication with investors, financial reporting, financial analysts’ forecasts, corporate disclosure, and corporate governance.
