Wide Interaction and Participation in Bahrain Sports Day at The National University Dr. Al-Mudhahki: Sports Day Calls for Making Purposeful Physical Activity A Lifestyle

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, praised the wide participation of the University’s affiliates in Bahrain Sports Day, which is the annual event calling for making sport and purposeful physical activity a lifestyle, ensuring the ability of society and its members to achieve their lofty goals in life.
The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University, in cooperation with the College of Health Sciences and Sports (CHSS), organized a diverse program on Bahrain Sports Day, which included: a three-kilometers walk, then sports games and competitions, and accompanying events that were held at the track.
Dr. Al-Mudhahki confirmed that the government’s call to launch the activities of the Sports Day aims at the importance of devoting sports as a societal culture and a lifestylr, which is reflected positively on the physical and psychological health of members of society.
Also, she said: “I was pleased with the participation of my fellow members of the academic administrative bodies and my sons and daughters, the students, in the sports day segments at the headquarters of our National University in Sakhir, within strict measures and precautions, and a great interaction of the participants,” calling for “this occasion to be an incentive to promote a healthy lifestyle in all dimensions.”
For her part, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Maliki, indicated that “Bahrain Sports Day promotes the concept of sports for all through its implicit call to make sports a lifestyle to promote public health in the community,” noting that “practicing physical activity is one of the basic requirements that help humans maintain their health and enjoy the quality of life”.
Regarding the precautionary measures, Al-Maliki stated that the participants adhered to the instructions and cooperated with the supervisory teams, in addition to the fact that attendance was limited to those who had the green shield, and that all participants underwent a temperature examination, and a health examination, such as checking blood sugar and pressure levels before the launch of the program.
Games in which the university’s affiliates participated included: volleyball, football, athletics, long jump, tug of war, table tennis, and other bilateral games, such as speedball, hoop, and others, and the winners of the first places in several competitions and games were honored with incentive prizes.
