The President of the University of Bahrain Honors University Professors included in Stanford University List of “Leading Scientists”

On Tuesday February 2022, the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen AlMudhahki, honored at the University premises in Sakhir four professors from UoB, for being included in the list released by Stanford University for scientific research, comprising the top 2 % of scholars whose research was most cited worldwide.

The president of the university congratulated the four professors on being among the world’s elite researchers, whose scientific research is frequently cited. She stated, “The Kingdom of Bahrain and the University of Bahrain take pride in you, and spare no effort to support scientific research and motivate researchers in a way that would promote scientific research and serve Bahrain’s Vision 2030.”

Dr. AlMudhahki stressed that the University of Bahrain exerts every possible effort to provide a fertile environment for scientific research and expand its graduate programs primarily based on solid scientific research addressing local, regional and global issues.

The list of distinguished international researchers with frequent citations of published research included three professors from the College of Science, University of Bahrain, Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Dr. Akel Aziz Dakhel, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology, Dr. Simone Perna, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Nasser Metwally Mohammad, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences, Dr. Asokan Govindaraj Vaithinathan.

Stanford University publishes an annual list of “leading scientists” whose research has been cited in research publications worldwide, indicating the strength and originality of the research, whether it is individual or joint research.
