During her Participation in the QS Higher Ed Summit Middle East, Dr. Fay Al Khalifa Talks about the Future of Higher Education after the Coronavirus Pandemic

The Director of the E-Learning Center at the University of Bahrain, Dr. Sheikha Fay bint Abdullah Al Khalifa, participated in a scientific session at the “QS Higher Ed Summit: Middle East and Africa” hosted by the United Arab Emirates University. The session discussed the future of higher education after the end of Coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Fay bint Abdullah Al Khalifa said that the session discussed dealing with the new challenges of higher education after recovering from the Coronavirus pandemic, and the importance of using e-learning in a hybrid model for the continuity and sustainability of education.
The Director of the Center added that the session discussed future technologies that should be used in the educational process, and the need to invest in technical infrastructure to provide e-learning that helps enrich learning outcomes and achieve them in an interesting manner.
The “QS Higher Ed Summit: Middle East and Africa” was held in Dubai on 1-3 March, with the participation of global experts in the field of higher education. Over the course of three days, participants discussed “Innovation Enabling Environments: Redefining Education in the Middle East and Africa.”
During the event, several interactive seminars and roundtables reviewed topics and issues, including the state of uncertainty facing the sector currently, supporting sustainable research and development for societal impact, and developing future learning environments.
Dr. Fay Al Khalifa talked about the outcomes of the summit its messages. She said “The most important issues that the conference emphasized include the necessity of combining teaching and research, developing both teachers and researchers to become facilitators of learning, and preparing students for the global community through developing future skills.”
